Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Updated: Nov 9, 2022

Prof Paul Lee - MSK Regeneration Blog on MSK Doctors

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is a very effective way to promote healing and recovery following soft tissue injury. It enables the body to regenerate and enhance its potential. There are over 500 different types of PRP offered in the market and it is often very difficult to interpret the result. 108 Harley Street has teamed up with MSK Doctors to deliver evidence-based cutting edge treatment for musculoskeletal conditions and soft tissue injuries.

With the input of the team that specialises in regenerative medicine, we are now able to utilise biological glue to treat and repair soft tissue injury of tendon and ligaments. 108 Harley Street and MSK Doctors has invested in this Swiss-based technology, supported by our local experts Professor Paul Lee and Mr Alun Yewlett. With this combination, we are proud to be able to offer patients specific biological glue that is created from the patients own blood.

By using a patients specific biological glue we can now perform tendon repair, ligament repair and soft tissue repair in a percutaneous fashion under local anaesthetic in the clinic. Due to the biological nature and the minimally invasive technique that we use, recovery is often quicker.

The benefit of using patients specific biological glue with PRP is that it will enhance body recovery and reduce the chance of rejection and allergic reactions. This is a great technology with a team of experts. We are very proud to offer this treatment to our patients. It makes us a one-stop service for sport and soft tissue injury in a clinic that can offer cutting edge biological treatment.
